Good music is good music and making good music is all about good chemestry, this is far more important to me than what "style" of music you play. Can I turn knobs? yes, can I hit the record button? yes, can you play guitar? hopefully, can you bang on those bongos like a chimpanze? i don't know but what happens when we have to hang out in a studio together for 12 hours?
I find the best way to get a good product is people working in a creative and open mindset bringing different ideas and experiences together to create something that no one alone could of done. This is why I like to meet in person and hang out before the session is booked to make sure there is something that inspires us, and that we are on the same page as far as what the end product is going to be.

Geoff Ott started his career right here at LBS. Since then, Ott has produced, engineered, and mixed for an impressive roster which includes 3 Doors Down, Candlebox, Unwritten Law, Melissa Etheridge, and Nickelback to name a few.
His singular purpose of capturing the real substance in music, Geoff remains eclectic and forward thinking in his production style and engineering. An innovator in more than just his sound and sensibility, Ott exploits his broad knowledge of music to accomplish his ambitious goals. Today, LBS brims with invention and energy and has become a hub of creativity where artists and engineers like to meet, work and develop their music. "I tend to become another member of the band, rather than the dictator" Ott says when questioned on how he sees himself when in a producers role.
